Wayne Covington grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, and graduated from Independence High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1990, and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 1995. Wayne started with the District Attorney’s Office for the 20th Prosecutorial District as an Assistant District Attorney in 1996, and left to go into private practice as a defense attorney in 2002. Outside of work, he spends his time with his wife and daughter, is an avid reader, and a Carolina sports fan.
